I went to Pisa on Sunday. My favourite building was the Baptistery because it was covered in heads. These are the heads on the Baptistery.

This is the whole Baptistery.

This is the Duomo (cathedral in Italian).

And finally here is the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Hey, those buildings are so beautifully decorated.
Your blog reminds me of the time I climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa when I was 11 years old. I was really frightened because the ledge at the top was tilted at a weird angle and at that time there was no barrier or fence round the edge. It felt as though you could easily slip off the top of the building.
Aaaaargh! I'm getting nervous just thinking about it.
I know the Tower was closed for a long time while they worked out how to try to stop it leaning over more and more until it fell over. Can you go inside it now?

Hi Sammy
I like your blog. Can I ask you a question: I saw a picture of the leaning tower and I am curious to know if anybody does go in there?
Hi Sammy. Love your pictures. I really like the facade of San Michele too. That's the one with nothing much behind it isn't it? And that looks as if it would be good to eat. I remember walking round the walls at Lucca at sunset with the city gradually turning into silhouettes.

Hi Sammy,
Nice photos. I went to Italy ages ago, but we didn't go to the places on your blog (I don't remember learning as much about architecture, either!). I recommend Asisi one day if you get the chance because it's on a hill with a great view and when it rains, it really tips it down.
Rosie and Jo send their love. We miss you all here in Cadiz - don't stay away too much longer, will you? ;) Loads of love to everyone.
